Boongadi in the records

The Census of Marwar 1941 lists a village written Bungri in English and बूंगड़ी in Hindi — a jagir village of 1,500 rekh in Phalodi pargana, held by a Patawat jagirdar. The Hindi spelling matches this village exactly, and the tehsil agrees; the English transliteration in the census (Bungri) differs from the modern form (Boongadi), which is ordinary for these records.

On that reading, Boongadi would be one of the eighteen Phalodi-pargana villages recorded under Patawat jagirdari as late as 1941. The identification is not yet confirmed — it rests on the Hindi spelling alone, and the History Committee is asked to check it against the original census page before this is treated as settled.
