Kerla in the records

The published history records Manohardas, son of Ramsingh of the Kilandas (Karnu) line, settling at Kerla while his brother Isardas remained at Karnu. In the Census of Marwar 1941, Kairla appears as a Patawat jagir village of 250 rekh.

⌛ Under Review The printed grant records add a battle memory to this village: in Samvat 1675 (1618 CE), at Kerla, Pata Askaran fell in the fight with Prince Khurram — the Mughal prince who later reigned as Shah Jahan. A related entry records that in Samvat 1678 Dayaldas Pata was granted a village for service in the same campaign, under Raja Gaj Singh.
