Earlier research flagged this Rohat Tehsil (Pali district) Chotila as possibly a different, unrelated village. New evidence points the other way: the Rathore dynasty genealogy documented at indianrajputs.com (sourced from Wikipedia) lists Patoji (Patawat)’s founding villages by name as Chotila, Aau, Karnu, Barjaansar, and Boongadi — the same set as three villages already confirmed on this site. Karnu itself sits in Nagaur district, over 150 km from Aau in Phalodi, showing these founding villages were scattered across old Marwar rather than clustered near each other — so the Pali-district location for Chotila is not disqualifying. This Rohat Tehsil village is also the only census-mapped "Chotila" anywhere near the historic Marwar region. Treated as research-tier, not firsthand-verified: family confirmation is still welcome.

Chotila in the records

Chotila came to the clan in the founding grant itself — given with Karnu and Ridmalsar to Rao Pato Ji in S.1532 (1475 CE) by Rao Jodha. Mala, son of Ratansingh, became dhani of Chotila, giving his name to the Malawat branch; and the grant records later note Pata Bhagwandas receiving Chotila, whose house served in the wars of Maharaja Jaswant Singh I (S.1677 and S.1715 are cited in the entry, under committee review).
