Listed among the 24 villages of ठिकाणा आऊ (Thikana Aau) in Patawat community records. Detailed local history — families, temples, landmarks and oral tradition — is still being collected, and family heads and elders are invited to contribute. What is now documented are the archival records for this village, set out further down this page.
Kailansar was the seat of Jaimal, son of Ratansingh — founder of the Jaimalot branch, the largest of the clan. The grant records add that half of Kelansar was given to Madan Singh — Pata — in the bandagi of Maharaja Man Singh in S.1877 (1820 CE). In the Census of Marwar 1941 it stands at 2,500 rekh, a Patawat jagir village with a population of 728 in 1901 and 734 in 1941.
